1986 Winner: Sirups Kager (Danish Brown Spice Cookies)

1927 Cookies

Cream shortening & sugar. Add egg then the lemon juice. Stir in cocoanut,
then milk. Last add flour, salt & baking powder sifted together. Drop
allowing space to sread. Bake 15-20 minutes

Bake at 350. All measurements level. About 2" space should be allowed on
each pan for cookies to spread. Let cookies stand in pan a minute before
removing to board to cool. Do not pile or put in jars until quite cold.

70' Walnut Cookies

Sift all dry ingredients twice. Rub crisco in with the hands until
thoroughly blended. Stir in the nuts, last the eggs. Mix well. Take bits
of dough the size of a walnut and roll into balls. Lay 2 inches apart in
greased pan. Press balls flat with bottom of a glass dipped in sugar for
each cookie. Put walnut meat in center of each. Bake 15 minutes.

Aunt Gisele'S Caramel Cookies

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Butter and flour a 15 1/2- by 10 1/2- by
1-inch jelly-roll pan; set aside.
Combine the butter, yolks, sugar, cinnamon and flour and mix until you
forma cohesive ball of dough. Spread the dough onto the prepared
jelly-roll pan and bake for 15 minutes.
Meanwhile cook the almonds, sugar, butter, honey and milk,
stirring on occasion, until the mixture is light golden.
Remove baked dough; spread almonds mixture over the top and
bake for 15 to 20 minutes longer until dark golden.
